Spring Newsletter

We wanted you to know what has been happening at Satis House and what is planned for the future. The best way was a Newsletter which we plan to do each season. This is the first, the spring issue, we hope you find it fun and informative.

Satis House Hotel, Restaurant and Bar has now been open nearly 6 months, can you believe it. We started work on the old Hotel and Restaurant on 16th October last year and completely refurbished the downstairs areas except for two toilets which I can gladly now say will be done by the end of April. The whole process took 10 days, several bottles of wine and quite a few late nights. Some might say a small miracle has been preformed to get so much done is such a short time I would say a gigantic one. The overall finish so far has turned out quite wonderful, Satis House is alive again and loving its new incarnation!!!
Our new Modern British Cuisine is a roaring success with some excellent reviews in local newspapers. An eclectic menu, which includes fusion style choices from the Pacific Rim and Europe, includes something for everyone
Due to the instant success of the Restaurant weekends are generally fully booked and advance bookings are increasing daily. It’s great to be in a position to turn people away at the weekend though rather annoying for you, so book early or hope for a cancellation.

We are steadily growing in reputation, hopefully for all the right reasons, and have exciting plans for the rest of the refurbishment. The Hotel Rooms are next although trying to get work done when you have guests staying is difficult and generally we beaver away on Sunday Evenings when we are closed to the public. How they do it on these TV reality shows I don’t know. I think a quick call to Carol Smiley might be in order….is she still around????
Once the accommodation is done we will move into the garden. We want to create a ‘relaxing haven’ for al fresco dining on those warm summer nights. At the moment a dilapidated green house and six badly laid paving slabs don’t really do it, so watch this space.

We now have a Wedding and Civil Partnership License and have our first Wedding in May. It’s a very exciting prospect for us and to be part of someone’s special day. We hope to provide a bespoke package which includes sole use of Satis House and what will be a memorable day.

Also Friday Evening is Champagne Night and with every booking you make for Friday Evenings you will receive a glass of Champagne on arrival for each person. Satis House is a work in progress and we hope to share our plans and dreams with you and watch together as they develop.
