According to legend, one of Queen Victoria's ladies-in-waiting, Anna Maria Stanhope is credited as the creator of afternoon teatime. Her menu centred around small cakes, bread and butter sandwiches, assorted sweets, and, of course, tea. The practice of inviting friends for tea in the afternoon was quickly adopted by other social hostesses.
Some ingredients may change without notice and an alternative will be offered.
All cakes and scones freshly prepared each day.

Childrens Policy
We love babies and children at Satis House however some of our guests may not. So we have two guest rooms available for you and your children so they can be children without disturbing other guests. The two rooms are The Orangery and The Garden Room. We are able to add a cot or small z-bed to each room should you require it. You may also eat in our Restaurant at 6.30pm. Children are not permitted in the Restaurant after 8pm.
